What is Facelift?
The eyebrow lift is made with the aim of balancing the distance between the eyebrow and the hairline. The operation is performed in order to lift the deformed and drooping eyebrows and move them to their old anatomical place.
This is a procedure performed to raise your eyebrows to give a youthful appearance, to give your eyes a more meaningful and attractive look, or to correct the appearance of low sagging eyebrows. Every point on our face should be in harmony. There are proportions between the structures on our face. The eyebrows are one of the structures that provide this ratio. Because of the importance of ratio of the face, eyebrow lift is one of the aesthetic procedures that is mostly preferred.
Facelift Methods
With an incision extending from the front of the ear to the sideburns, ear folds, around the earlobes, behind the ear and to the scalp, the facial area is reached under the skin, and the skin laxity of the face, neck and chin area is removed by stretching and then excess skin removal. The position of the fat tissue under the skin is corrected or excess is taken.
Sub (Standard) Face Lift:
It is a method that is planned to correct laxity and sagging in the neck and chin area with an incision in the traditional face lift. The lower 1/3 of the face is targeted.
Endoscopic Face Lift:
It is based on the principle of observing tissues and performing surgery with long thin instruments and a camera-used smaller incisions. The advantage of it is no scars or smaller ones. However, this method cannot remove excess skin alone. It is generally used for upper face and forehead lift procedures. It is also used for a mid-face lift.
Midface Lift:
It is applied to correct the under-eye and cheek areas. It aims to replace the sagging adipose tissue and other tissues in this area to its youthful areas.
Subperiosteal Facelift:
By correcting the positions of the deep tissues on the facial bones, the relationship between bone and soft tissue is restored. It is a face lift technique in which facial tissues are separated from the bone tissue together with the membrane called periosteum on the bone tissue. It is thought by some surgeons that it gives more successful and permanent results in the long term and that the risk of complications is less. The midface area is targeted.
Deep Plan Facelift:
It aims to correct midface, cheek, and lower eyelid deformities. It is a method that takes longer to heal and has a higher risk of complications.
Composite Facelift:
The skin, subcutaneous, muscle and fat tissues are planned to be stretched as a single structure. The sagging of the fat pad on the cheekbone and the deepened groove on the nose edge, which cannot be corrected with standard methods, can be corrected with this method. The mid-face area is effective in aging. Recovery time is longer.
SMAS (Superficial musculoaponeurotic system) Facelift:
The membrane-muscle composition that covers the deep structures of the face under the skin is based on the principle of tightening a tissue. It is a successful technique in patients with a deep line extending from the edge of the nose to the corner of the lip. It is not effective in the mid-face area.
Full Face Lift:
It is an operation to rejuvenate the forehead, upper and lower eyelids, mid face, lower face, lips, and neck area.
Mini Face Lift:
By reaching the subcutaneous tissue with small incisions, only skin tissue stretching is performed. Recovery time is short. It has no effect on the eyebrows. It will not be successful in severe facial drooping.
MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) Face Lift:
It is a method in which subcutaneous tissues are reached with shorter incisions compared to the classical method, and face lift with straps and subcutaneous tissues are replaced.
S-LIFT:
It is a facelift surgery performed with a shorter S-shaped incision in front of the ear. After skin and subcutaneous tissue dissection, SMAS tissue suspension is performed. It is surgery for the deformity that exists mostly in the lower face area.
Quick Lift:
S lift modification. It is not successful in severe deformities.

After Face Lift Operation
After three or four weeks, face lift surgery effect as to have a younger and fresher skin will be evident.
Until the stitches are removed,
- The use of make-up should never be allowed.
- The most important thing to do is not to go out in the sunlight. (Even if it is necessary, high factor precautionary protections should be used.)
- Aspirin, vitamin alike medicines and herbal teas, which may increase bleeding, should not be drunk before the operation.
- Smoking should not be used as it delays the healing of scars. You should stop smoking 3 weeks before the surgery.
- Since the hair cannot be dyed for 1 month after the surgery, it can be dyed 1 week before. Keeping the hair long helps to hide the dressings used after the surgery.
The operation will take approximately 4 hours. You will experience swelling and bruising in the first days because of the necessary stretching needles and operation. You may need to use a neck brace so that it does not increase too much. In the first week, your swelling will increase to the maximum level and then decrease. You can take a shower when your bandages are removed. In the second week, you will be able to return to your activities that are not too heavy.
After a few weeks, you will be able to do your sports and exercises. You will get rid of swelling and bruises. Even if the numbness on the face does not end completely, it will decrease. It will take a few months for your numbness to completely subside. Most importantly, you should not forget that you need to be protected from the sun during the healing process. Even if you go out in the sun, you should definitely use high factor sunscreens. In addition to these, we would like to mention that; Unfortunately, face lift does not have any benefits for lip wrinkles. The effect of the applications for each area on the face will be different from each other. For lip wrinkles, you can get help from your experts with laser procedures rather than aesthetics.
