What is Eyebrow Lift?

Before Eyebrow Lift Operation
As in all surgeries, it is necessary to stop aspirin and smoking 3 weeks before the operation in eyebrow lift surgery. It is crucial to avoid taking medications and other chemicals that can thin the blood over the last week.
What not to use:
- Painkillers like Voltaren, Vermidon, and Apranax (Minoset, Novalgin can be used when pain relief is required),
- Vitamin supplements including ginseng, ginkgo biloba, co-enzyme Q, and other ingredients,
- All weight loss products
If the browlift will be performed with local anesthesia, it will be sufficient to follow the physician's recommendations before the operation. However, if the endoscopic brow lift is planned with general anesthesia, anesthesia preparation, fasting for a certain period and drug use will be required.
- If you have an upper respiratory tract infection, inform your doctor, your surgery may need to be postponed.
- Your intervention is usually performed with local anesthesia. But if it will be combined with forehead and face lift, it is done with general anesthesia.
- Smoking can adversely affect wound healing. For this reason, it would be beneficial to stop using it 1 week before the surgery.
- There may be a tendency to bleed during your monthly period (menstrual period), so your surgery may need to be postponed, although not necessarily. Inform your doctor about this situation.
- The use of aspirin, herbal medicines and vitamin tablets should be discontinued 10 days before the operation date, as they increase the tendency to bleeding.
- If general anesthesia is to be chosen, you must fast for 6 hours before the intervention.
- Before the brow lift surgery, talk at length with your doctor about your wishes, what can be done and their permanence.
- Your photo will be taken, and necessary planning and drawings will be made.
After Eyebrow Operation
- Antibiotics to prevent infection and painkillers to avoid pain will be started right after the surgery.
- If only eyebrow lifting was performed after the surgery, you can go home on the same day.
- Do not smoke for 1 week after the surgery.
- Do not take aspirin and similar drugs, herbal, and vitamin tablets for 10 days after the surgery, as they increase the tendency to bleed.
- It will be enough to rest at home for 1-2 days. During this period, lie down with your head above the heart level and apply ice on the eyebrows and forehead at intervals.
- Returning to work is usually 2 – 3 days later.
- There may be a small amount of swelling and bruising, in which case your doctor may recommend some creams) for faster relief.
- You can start light exercises in 1 week and heavy sports in 2-3 weeks.
- You may have mild pain for a few days, but it is well tolerated with oral pain relief therapy.
