Microrhinoplasty in Turkey

Patients who have a little deformity on the back of the nose and a narrow upper bone of the nose may benefit from the microrhinoplasty method. In this technique, the nasal dorsum is reached with incisions made through the nose and the nasal dorsum is shaped by using special shaver systems. Since the intervention is very limited, there is no need for lateral nasal bone fractures to give the nose back its natural round shape, and the intervention on the tip of the nose is very limited. Beyond that the healing can usually be completed in a very short time without even bruising and swelling around the eyes. Tip Plasty in Turkey

The operations performed to correct the deformities of only the tip of the cartilage structure without any intervention on the bone structures of the nose are called tipplasty. With tipplasty surgery, nasal tip drooping and asymmetry can be fixed, complete nasal tips can be reduced, the tip point can be highlighted in the nasal profile view, and cartilage angulations that limit the nasal entrance can be fixed. Swelling and discolouration around the eyes are typically not seen following surgery since the bone structures are not affected. After tipplasty surgery, patients can quickly resume their regular daily routines because a one-week bandage application on the nose is sufficient. What should be considered in this regard is not to focus only on the tip, but also to evaluate the general nose structure. If the relationship between the tip of the nose and the dorsum is not evaluated well and intervention is not made in both regions, adequate results may not be obtained.

Endonasal Approach (Closed Rhinoplasty in Turkey)

If the problems in the nose are not too much, it is a rhinoplasty procedure performed entirely inside the nose. Nose aesthetic surgeries can be applied in different techniques. It can be preferred in cases where the skin and soft tissue are damaged very little, such as removing the nasal bridge, nasal tip lifting, and reducing the nasal wings with the endonasal rhinoplasty method.

Endonasal rhinoplasty (closed rhinoplasty) is the intervention of the nose with thin incisions made through the nose. After the incisions are made, the surgery is completed with aesthetic stitches. For stitches, the rasping technique is used instead of breaking the nose. It is a procedure that is typically done when the patient is unconscious. If only a simple correction will be made about the tip of the nose, local anesthesia may be preferred. The operation takes 1-3 hours depending on the technique to be applied under general anesthesia.

It has advantages such as a shorter recovery period, no scarring, a more natural appearance of the nose, and a shorter operation time compared to open rhinoplasty. For these reasons, it is much more preferred by patients. The operation time is shorter, but it is a difficult and technical operation and requires serious expertise and experience.

After the operation, especially in the first week, the head should be kept high. This is necessary for the swelling to be less and to pass earlier. Stitches dissolve on their own as aesthetic stitches are placed inside the nose.

External Rhinoplasty (Open Rhinoplasty in Turkey)

Unlike closed rhinoplasty, the open or external rhinoplasty approach uses a small bridging incision called a trans-columellar incision to connect the right and left nostril incisions. In exchange for this 4-5mm visible section, the nose skin can be folded upwards (like opening a car hood) and unobstructed visibility of the lower nose skeleton can be achieved. In addition to direct visibility of nearly the entire nasal framework, distortion of the nasal cartilage is minimized, and individual components can be evaluated in their natural, intact alignment. Therefore, the hallmark of open rhinoplasty is the greatly improved surgical access allowed by the trans-columellar incision.

Although many aspects of an unattractive nose can be corrected using a closed rhinoplasty approach (thereby avoiding a trans-columellar incision), the modest risk of a visible columellar scar is well balanced by improved accuracy, versatility, and effectiveness.

While some rhinoplasty surgeons remain adept at the closed technique, especially in patients with relatively simple nasal anatomy, the advent of open rhinoplasty has truly revolutionized the treatment of complex nasal deformities such as cleft lip rhinoplasty, torsion noses, or severe post-rhinoplasty deformities. In fact, most rhinoplasty specialists consider open rhinoplasty surgery to be the procedure of choice for all types of difficult nasal anatomy.

Piezzo Rhinoplasty (Ultrasonic Rhinoplasty in Turkey)

The use of ultrasonic waves in rhinoplasty first started with surgical interventions related to oral and dental health. This approach aims to cut bones with high-speed vibration created by sound waves.

With the use of this device in the nose, the concept of piezzo or ultrasonic rhinoplasty has emerged.

This device is only effective on the bone structure and is useful in bone shaping. Intervention to other nasal structures such as cartilage and tip is performed with classical methods.

There is no chance of a wound or bleeding since it allows the surgery to be done without harming the delicate tissues. The risk of bruising and edema following rhinoplasty is minimal since soft tissue damage is avoided. In this way, the recovery period of the patient is much shorter.

Septoplasty

Septoplasty is a surgical procedure to correct the septum curvature that affects breathing. The problem of curving the septum to one side or narrowing the airway due to protrusions formed in a certain part is called septum deviation. This can make it difficult to breathe. During the septoplasty procedure, the nasal septum is straightened and repositioned.

It is usually normal for the septum to be somewhat crooked. However, when bending is severe, it can block one side of the nose and reduce airflow. This causes difficulty in breathing from one or both sides of the nose. Septoplasty straightens the nasal septum by reshaping or repositioning cartilage, bone, or both.

Septoplasty may also be required in the treatment process of diseases such as sinus infection or tumor. In addition, septoplasty can be applied when non-surgical treatment methods fail to successfully treat sleep apnea or snoring problems.
