What is Liposuction?
Liposuction can be defined as the elimination of regional fat of people who want to have a fit body. It is applied to eliminate stubborn regional fat in areas such as waist, abdomen, hips, knees where many women have problems. Thanks to the incisions created on the adipose tissues, the fat in the area is removed.
Three methods are generally preferred during liposuction surgery. With the wet technique liposuction method, unwanted fat cells in the body are absorbed. However, before the absorption process, the fat cells are filled with liquid. In the ultrasonic liposuction method, the regional fat is reached through small gaps. By applying ultrasonic vibrations to the area in question, the best efficiency is obtained from the process. In the laser liposuction method, laser beams are used as can be expected.
Liposuction Methods
Liposuction method is also known as fat removal operation or fat suction operation. There are different techniques and methods when performing liposuction surgery. The method to be applied is decided according to each person's own body structure and regional lubrication. There are 3 different methods.

Wet Technique Liposuction
Wet technique liposuction means tumescent technique. The fat cells where there is regional fat are filled with fluid and these cells are inflated. Later, incisions are made on the skin and the relevant fat cells are reached. The body is moved through vacuum devices and the unwanted fat cells in the body are also absorbed. In this method, liquid is filled into the targeted fat cells before the suction process.
Ultrasonic Liposuction
Small spaces are used in the ultrasonic liposuction method. By means of small beads, the targeted area of regional fat is reached, and ultrasonic vibrations are applied to this area. Then, classical applications are made, and the liposuction process is completed.
Laser Liposuction
In the laser liposuction method, laser beams are used. By opening the fractions, the absorption process is performed under the skin.

Vaser Liposuction

Before Liposuction Operation
All patients who will be operated with the liposuction method should notify the specialist surgeon without skipping any issues related to their health status. Please share all the information about your health history and status, especially genetic and hereditary diseases, temporary or permanent diseases after birth, surgeries and medications used. If there are aspirin-derived drugs or nutritional supplements, fruits and vegetables that are prescribed for blood thinning, you should stop consuming them at least ten days before the surgery. Otherwise, both during and after liposuction surgery, the risks of bleeding reach their maximum values and important risks may occur for both the doctor and the patient.
If you have harmful habits such as smoking and alcohol, you should completely eliminate these consumptions at least ten days before. These habits should be continued with the same care until recovery occurs after the surgery. Otherwise, you should remember that your healing process will be prolonged, and risks may occur. You should stay away from all sugary, chocolate and pastry foods. You should know that you can get through this process more easily by minimizing your salty-oily eating habits. There is no harm in taking foods such as meat, chicken, fish, but you should not forget the consumption of vegetables and fruits, and you should stay away from sugar and salt as much as possible.
After Liposuction Operation
Although the result provides motivation, the process after the operation worries the patient. Here are the factors in this process:
Nutrition
The patient does not eat or drink anything for 6 hours after the operation. Then it starts with liquid and soft foods. Fluid supplementation for the first 24 hours is adjusted according to the amount of oil aspirated by the doctor. Meanwhile, urination is also monitored.
After the patient, it is recommended to drink 2500 cc of water with the environment. If too much fluid is taken, edema in the legs and lungs; when less fluid is consumed, it can cause hypotension.
It is recommended that the patient consume foods with normal calories at home but rich in vitamins, proteins and minerals. If the patient is fed with foods contains fiber so that there is no constipation complaint.
Walk
Immediately after the operation, the patient first sits down after liquid food intake and then walks for at least 10 steps. If anemia and hypotension are present, walking may be delayed. Walks should not be done alone.
Embolism
It can cause permanent damage with the migration of the clot in the foot veins to the lungs or brain. Contrary to what is known, this is a blood clot, not a fat clot.
Aspiration of excess fat in the operation, long duration of the operation, smoking, presence of obesity, use of birth control pills, existing cardiovascular diseases and immobility after the operation increase the possibility of embolism. Precautions are taken in their presence. The risk of embolism is reduced by the use of stockings, the use of blood thinners and early mobilization.
Anemia
With VASER liposuction, the amount of bleeding is less. However, blood values are checked in large amounts of fat aspiration. If the amount of blood is below 8 mg/dl, blood transfusion is considered.
Use of Corsets
It is necessary for the shaping of the body after the operation. It is also important in terms of controlling edema and limiting bleeding. The corset should be tight enough. It should even be difficult to wear. Cheap corsets affect the process badly by causing sweating and itching.
After the edema has passed, the corset should be replaced with a smaller size. Corsets should be worn continuously for 3-4 weeks, then intermittently during the day.
Ecchymosis (bruise)
There are very few bruises in vaser lipo. Mostly, the corset is at the fold, and the bruises disappear within 7-10 days.
Medication Use
Patients use painkillers for 7 days and antibiotics for 5 days at home.
Massage
It is appropriate to do lymph drainage massages after 10 days. It accelerates healing and removal of edema. Apart from lymph drainage, walking exercises are used as massage.
Stream
Sometimes there may be a leaky discharge similar to watery blood. This current is actually desirable. It can continue for 3 days.
